I admit it. I have a thing about gadgets. And science. You combine these things together, and you get me: someone who owns more than one telescope.
I posted some pictures recently of my Televue NP101 telescope. While I was at it, I threw my smaller Televue 76 in the spotlight as well:
This little guy has a 76mm objective lens (3 inches), and is of a different optical design than the NP101. The 76 is a "doublet", which uses 2 lenses, vs. the NP101 which uses 4.
This little guy is awesome for traveling and for a quick view on the deck, or for a spotting scope - for looking at wildlife, or calling shots at the range for your shooting buddy for example.
A little closer view:
It looks kinda funny with the big 31mm Nagler eyepiece! But trust me, when you look through it, who cares if it looks a little goofy! Al Nagler didn't call it the "spacewalk" experience for nothing!
Till next time: get yourself a simple backyard telescope, go outside and look up!
