You may remember a while back I posted some pics from a family outing to Winterthur Museum and Mansion in Wilmington Delaware. Well, we made another trip - this time for a Santa Claus breakfast and for the Yule Tide tour. They sure do know how to dress up the old 175-room mansion for the holidays!
I narrowed down the tour images to 11 of them, so I've decided to split this post into 3 postings rather than dump all of them at once. So without further ado, here is the first batch.
As I mentioned, there are a whopping 175 rooms in this huge mansion, and as you go through the tour, there are little rooms here and there along hallways, and this first one is from one of those side-rooms. Very cool little room - looks comfortable:
Just down from that room, you enter a very nice sized dining room, all decked out with presents on the table:
In the hallway again, we see one of the stairways, reflecting one of the lower floor rooms:
That should give you a taste of this amazing mansion. Stay tuned for the next 2 postings. Hope you like them - and if you're local, get over to Winterthur quickly before the season ends!!
